Time Capsule big scale

I stumbled upon a phenomenon that I didn't even think was actually possible.  Silly girl.... A handful of people have time capsuled their houses.... So if they were built and furnished in the 50's, 60's or 70's... they have not changed a thing.  Have maintained them to perfection.  Its an absolute fascination of mine.... The links below will show you some awesome examples of these houses.... My question is how would you time capsule 2009?

Mad Men

I love the show Mad Men, its brought Mid Century furniture back into vogue to all the taupe villages out there to admire.  The show's characters and story lines are wonderful to follow and to admire.  To start the buzz of their upcoming season 3 they have released a Mad Men character study to see how you would fit.
This is what I would look like in the 1960's if I smoked and drank martini's all day long....

Inspiration to get going

So I thought I was going to really do this blog but had no clear direction I was a teenager coming into being.... please excuse the pun.... I think the blog will be for my discoveries and adventures into being part of the new population of unemployed/laid off peeps.  I was recently laid off from a great architectural firm.  Yes it hurts and feels mostly like a break up of sorts.  But I'm going to make lemonade vodka cocktails out of the whole situation.

Tuesday at Seaside

Seaside Florida is a town/community that we read and studied in Architecture school as the New Urbanism.  Honestly it fell a little flat in my book when it came to urban design.  The community could/and still does have the potential to make up for the cluster that is Panama City.  Cute streets and great detailing on the architecture.  We also went to Rosemary Beach which was the next development by the same team of designers.  It feels better and as if they learned from their mistakes and trials with Seaside.  They are both very great towns don't get me wrong.

Monday in Florida

Went and had a bio eco tour this morning by kayak.  The lady that gave us our tour was great and just absolutely loves her job and where she lives.  We learned about scallops, crabs, grasses and shells.  I had no idea all the fun creatures that lived in the ocean.... So relaxing.... I think I could really get into all of this vacation business.....
